Video formats?

      Hello

I guess there’s no one right answer, but is there a “optimal” setup of a fixed, on site camera for image velocimetry video clips?

Is it a case of just maximise the resolution and bitrate? Is a fixed bitrate better than variable, does it matter?

Are you transcoding your clips from the h264 / h265 raw stream from your fixed cameras, what codecs are you using? Are you using ffmpeg or cv2 to do the transcoding?

        Hi,

I seem to remember a discussion led by Mark Randall where certain video formats inject “fake frames” which could mess up certain methods. We are also interested in the answer to this question as we are just starting to put cameras out on a couple of hydrological stations, hopefully Mark will be able to elaborate.
