The USGS added code to QRev so that if the QRev.cfg file didn’t exist or couldn’t be found QRev would automatically create a new QRev.cfg file. For the USGS I think this is a reasonable approach as they can program QRev to create a QRev.cfg file with their preferred defaults. However, for the international community I am not sure this is a good approach as the agency may have different preferred defaults but an automatically generated QRev.cfg file may not have those preferred defaults. I feel it is better for the international community to have QRevInt provide a message that it can’t find the QRev.cfg file and leave it to the user, computer administrator, or specialist to provide a QRev.cfg file the is consistent with agency policy. Please let me know your thoughts on this. Thanks, Dave
