Hi All, the last fixed electromagnetic river flow gauge within our network of what used to be 40-50 is beyond the end of its asset life. The units were produced by Thermo-Fisher but ceased production in the 1990’s… a few areas have been asking about a replacement of the same technology due to weedy rivers and the desire of local landowners to stop managing weed cutting in rivers. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a manufacturer out there…
Does anyone use this technology?
has anyone found a supplier who produces these (or who may be able to produce these)?
We have approached Nivus who have put it on their long list of possibilities but it make take a long time and a lot of money. Any supplier would also be interested in the potential market size so I wonder if you have weed filled rivers you cannot cut anymore and if this gauge would be a solution?
